The Chicago Auto Show showcased a plethora of the best, most innovative vehicles on the market, as well as those about to hit the market, and even a vast range of concept cars meant to spark notions of present and future creativity on display in the automotive industry. One of the most unique vehicles on display at the 2017 Chicago Auto Show was the 2017 Toyota Mirai.

This car is highlighted by its fuel-cell energy source, which uses a fuel-cell system along with an electric motor, providing drivers with an incredible 67 MPGe. The electric motor is capable of producing 153 horsepower, so there’s no compromising efficiency for power here.

The fuel cell technology used in the Toyota Mirai is some of the most innovative technology in the industry. It’s certainly a game changer. When hydrogen, which happens to be the most abundant element in the universe, is used in the fuel cell, it’s incredibly efficient. Moreover, it leaves no carbon emissions behind. This is obviously an important step in the brand’s ever-evolving attempts at creating vehicles that significantly cut back on emissions – something that cars like the Toyota Prius continue to improve upon with each passing year.

Hydrogen fuel cell technology is nothing new, either, as it has been used in a number of industries to power machinery of all types. The time is now to shift that use into the automotive industry. Here at Keith Pierson Toyota, we are proud to do our part in offering customers the most innovative automotive brand around, and we invite you to stop by and check out these impressive models for yourself.
