You can purchase the 2022 Toyota RAV4 in the following six trim levels: LE, XLE, XLE Premium, Adventure, TRD Off-Road, and Limited. You can also choose a hybrid version with the following five trims: Hybrid LE, Hybrid XLE, Hybrid SE, Hybrid XSE, and Hybrid Limited. The LE has 17 inch steel wheels, multi-LED headlights, LED daytime running lights, LED taillights, privacy glass, a dual chrome-tipped exhaust, and black power outside mirrors with a folding feature. The Hybrid LE adds low-profile black roof rails and 17 inch alloy wheels.
You get LED projector headlights, low-profile black roof rails, and color-keyed heated power outside mirrors with integrated turn signal indicators with the XLE and Hybrid XLE. The XLE Premium features 19 inch Super Chrome alloy wheels, integrated LED fog lights, a power tilt/slide moonroof with one-touch open/close, and a height-adjustable power liftgate with jam protection. The Hybrid XLE has the same features, except you get 18 inch six-spoke dark metallic-finished alloy wheels.
The Adventure offers you 19 inch split five-spoke alloy wheels in matte gray, fender flares, a unique split-bar front upper grille, Black RAV4 and Adventure badging, and unique raised black roof rails. The Hybrid SE offers you 18 inch multi-spoke black sport alloy wheels, bi-LED projector headlights, color-keyed outside door handles with a touch-sensor lock/unlock feature on the front doors, low-profile roof rails, and color-keyed heated power outside mirrors with integrated turn signals.
The TRD Off-Road features 18 inch six-spoke matte-black TRD flow-formed alloy wheels, Black RAV 4 and TRD Off-Road badging, a red shock absorber, black heated power outside mirrors with turn signal indicators, and a TRD-stamped stainless steel front skid plate. The Hybrid XSE offers 18 inch multi-spoke black sport alloy wheels, vertical LED accent lights, a two-tone exterior color, and a blue-painted shock absorber.
On the Limited, you get 19 inch multi-spoke Super Chrome alloy wheels, chrome-accented color-keyed outside door handles with a touch-sensor lock/unlock feature on the front doors, low-profile roof rails, power tilt/slide moonroof, a height-adjustable power liftgate, and color-keyed heated power outside mirrors with turn signal indicators and puddle lights with the folding feature. The Hybrid Limited provides you with 18 inch multi-spoke dark metallic-finished alloy wheels and the same features as the Limited trim.
Powerful Performance
The 2022 Toyota RAV4 offers a 2.5 liter four-cylinder engine with all 11 trim levels. The traditional gas-powered engine delivers 203 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque and is paired with an eight-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission. The drive mode select options include Normal, Sport, and Eco, so you can customize your driving experience to fit the driving conditions or your mood.
The hybrids add a lithium-ion battery and two electric motors, which power the front and rear wheels for a combined output of 219 hp and are matched to an electronically controlled continuously variable automatic transmission with a sequential shift mode. You can choose from Normal, Sport, Eco, EV, and Trail modes with this engine.
Front-wheel drive is standard on most gas-only trims, with the Adventure and TRD Off-Road opting for standard all-wheel drive (AWD). AWD is offered as an option on the other trim levels. All RAV4 hybrid trims feature an electric on-demand AWD, with AWD-integrated management and a multi-information display monitor.
If you want to take your RAV4 off-road, the Adventure offers selectable terrain drive modes and hill descent control, while the TRD Off-Road features all-terrain tires and an off-road-tuned suspension.
Impressive Interior
Slide behind the wheel of the 2022 Toyota RAV4, and you’ll discover an interior designed for your and your passengers’ comfort and convenience. The LE starts with a six-speaker audio system with a 7 inch touch screen featuring Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Hybrid LE adds dual-zone climate control and three USB ports. Moving up to the XLE or Hybrid XLE trim gets you keyless entry and ignition, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, dual-zone automatic climate control, and additional USB ports.
You can enjoy simulated leather upholstery on the XLE Premium, with a leather-trimmed steering wheel with the Hybrid XLE. The Hybrid SE has a unique appearance with blue interior accents and ambient lighting. With the Hybrid XSE, you get simulated leather upholstery with cloth inserts and blue stitching, heated front seats, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and a 9 inch touch screen. The Limited adds the 9 inch touch screen, power-adjustable passenger seat, heated and ventilated seats, and an 11-speaker premium JBL sound system. You get the same features on the Hybrid Limited, in addition to dark brown interior accents.
Depending on the trim level you select, the additional features include heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel, a wireless charging pad, a navigation system, and a digital rearview mirror. You can enjoy 37.5 to 37.6 cu ft of cargo space behind the rear seat and 69.7 to 69.8 cu ft when you include the seating area. That’s an impressive amount of cargo space for a small SUV.
Safety and Driver-Assistance Features
Toyota knows that safety is paramount when purchasing a new vehicle, so the RAV4 is packed with standard and available features. The standard features included in Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 include forward-collision mitigation, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping system, automatic high beams, and a traffic sign reader on all trims. The advanced air bag system on your RAV4 will work to protect you and your passengers during a collision. The higher trims add a blind-spot monitor with a rear cross-traffic alert and surround-view camera system.
