As the Toyota lineup continues to evolve and change, you can still expect the high quality, performance, and comfort that Toyota has always provided. The 2023 lineup includes seven sedans with updates and new grades or trim levels for some of the brand’s most recognizable models. Whether you’re looking for a sports sedan to wow your friends and family or a utility sedan to carry your cargo around town and across the country, you can find a 2023 Toyota sedan to fit your lifestyle. Keep reading to learn about the changes and sedans in the 2023 Toyota sedan lineup.

Toyota Camry

Toyota introduced its first Camry model to the United States in 1983. In the 40 years since its introduction, the sedan has undergone many changes, including the option of a hybrid rather than a fuel-powered vehicle. In 2023, Toyota is adding a new edition of this legendary mainstay: the Camry SE Nightshade edition. This vehicle combines the performance customers love with an all-new exterior, including bronze-colored aluminum wheels and black exterior features. Besides a new look, the SE Nightshade edition comes with a gas or hybrid engine and front-wheel or all-wheel drive.

Another grade of the Toyota Camry is also getting some attention: the Camry TRD. This edition of the vehicle is available in an exclusive “Underground” color with a black roof and includes updated red and black interior designs, compared to the previous year’s white and black designs.

Toyota Corolla

The 2023 Toyota Corolla comes in both a gas and a hybrid model. Since last year, the gas versions of the Corolla received a new lineup of grades: LE, SE, and XSE. For the hybrid model, the vehicle also has three grades: LE, SE, and XLE. All versions of the 2023 Corolla also get new standard features, including Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, an 8-inch multimedia system with a touch screen, and updated grille designs. The hybrid version of the 2023 Corolla across all grades comes with the updated 5th Generation Toyota Hybrid System, which is smaller, lighter, and more powerful.

Toyota Corolla Hatchback

Like the regular Corolla, the 2023 Corolla Hatchback received a lot of attention between the 2022 and 2023 model years. On the outside, the 2023 Corolla received LED headlights and daytime running lamps in the SE and XSE grades. Finishing touches for the updates include an updated grille and rear bumper design and upgraded wheels, receiving a gloss graphite wheel finish.

If you’re looking for changes inside the vehicle, it received the same touch screen multimedia system as the regular Toyota Corolla. It also has additional USB-C ports in the vehicle so you can connect your smartphone and other devices. For your added peace of mind, Toyota also upgraded the vehicle’s system to the Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 version.

Toyota Crown

One of the most exciting changes to the 2023 Toyota sedan lineup is the return of the Toyota Crown. Toyota originally introduced the Crown to the U.S. in 1958, but discontinued the model in this market for several years. While respectable options like the Avalon took its place, it’s time for the Crown to make its triumphant return, exciting many driving enthusiasts.

This vehicle comes in three grades: XLE, Limited, and Platinum, and boasts larger wheels and a new “lift-up” design that was absent on previous models. Beyond the simple updates to the exterior, the 2023 Crown has two powertrain options you can choose based on the grade of your vehicle. First is the Hybrid MAX system, which is available in the Platinum grade. This system can output 340 net horsepower, and has a direct shift 6-speed automatic transmission. The XLE and Limited grades come with the standard Toyota Hybrid System, which offers the vehicle around 38 mpg combined city and highway driving.

Toyota Mirai

The Toyota Mirai didn’t get a facelift or changes to most of the mechanical and engine systems throughout the vehicle, but it did get a change to the entertainment and information system. Toyota replaced the old system with its new multimedia system, which comes standard across all grades and versions of this vehicle. This means you have access to an improved control system for the sound system in the vehicle while keeping its previous excellent performance capabilities.

Toyota Prius

The Toyota Prius is perhaps one of the brand’s most recognizable vehicles, so it comes as no surprise that Toyota chose to update it in the 2023 model lineup with a complete redesign. The 2023 Toyota Prius comes in three grades: LE, XLE, and Limited. Like the other hybrid sedans, Toyota equipped the new Prius with its refined Toyota Hybrid System.

The 2023 Prius comes with a new sporty exterior. This reduced its height and made the vehicle slightly wider for better aerodynamics and passenger space. Updates to this sedan also include improving the braking, handling, and engine systems to provide even better performance than the previous model years. With all-wheel drive, the grip on the road is improved to increase your handling of the vehicle.

Toyota Prius Prime

The Toyota Prius Prime is the brand’s plug-in hybrid model. It combines some of the best features of a gas engine, with the option to charge the vehicle and operate only with its electric motors. Since the 2022 model year, Toyota introduced a better performance and technology package to increase the vehicle’s range by almost 50%. The 2023 Prius Prime also received changes to design features throughout the interior and exterior, giving it a sleek and sporty appearance.
