The 2023 RAV4 and the 2023 Escape can tow small or midsize trailers. The RAV4 Hybrid XSE model has a towing capacity of 1,750 lbs. Both crossover SUVs have the same standard-engine towing capacity of 1,500 lbs., with a maximum towing capability of 3,500 lbs. In terms of efficiency, the gasoline RAV4 gets up to 30 combined mpg, just like the Escape. The hybrid performance is similar, giving only a small edge to the Escape. Both vehicles have solid power ratings that increase depending on your choices. Comparing base-level gasoline versions, however, the RAV4 brings more power for the price. So, what's the JAX Ale Trail, and how does it work? The trail is a list of local craft breweries you visit on your self-guided tour. The first step is to get a JAX Ale Trail Brewery Passport, available at any of the breweries on the trail or one of the visitor centers listed on the JAX Ale Trail website. Once you have the passport, head down the trail and sample some of the brews offered, and when you do, make sure you have the bartender stamp your passport. In addition to enjoying some tasty beers, you can also win prizes once you have a few stamps collected. If you fill out the passport, you can claim all the prizes. Collecting Prizes Not only will there be fantastic craft beers along the trail, but there are also prizes. The all-new version of Toyota's infotainment system is housed on a 14-inch touch screen for most models or a 12.3-inch touch screen on the standard SR5. Its cars, trucks, and SUVs often lead the way in cutting-edge technology, both under the hood and inside the cabin, and the Corolla is no different. Through changes to trim levels, new infotainment systems, and more, the 2023 Corolla has even more going for it than last year, and it also wins out against other 2023 compact cars. more The Corolla's most notable competitors include the Honda Civic, Subaru Impreza, and Hyundai Elantra. Exterior and Trims The redesigned front and back fascias of the 2023 Toyota Corolla give it a refresh without compromising on its classic appeal. The Corolla Hybrid comes in three trim levels: LE, SE, and XLE. The SE and XLE are all-new additions for 2023, expanding from what was once a single-trim vehicle. The gas-powered 2023 Corolla, meanwhile, streamlines to four trim levels by losing the starting L and the Apex trims, leaving the LE, SE, XLE, and XSE. Depending on your choice of trim, you can make the exterior as utilitarian or fancy as you like. Each competitor offers a lot of similar benefits as the Corolla. The 2023 Honda Civic has the same five trim levels as it did before: LX, Sport, EX, Touring, and Si, but the big news is the reintroduction of the Civic Type R Hatchback. LED headlights with a contemporary dual-low-beam design are standard on every Civic Sedan. Six model levels of the 2023 Hyundai Elantra are available: SE, SEL, Limited Gas, N Line, Blue Hybrid, and Limited Hybrid. And while it offers decent cargo and passenger volume, lower trim levels can look a little plain. Unlike the Elantra, the Subaru Impreza and Honda Civic are available as a sedan or five-door hatchback. However, picking those options may cost you more than a 2023 Toyota Corolla. Boiling it all down: the Corolla has good length and width for its class, great exterior options, and an overall style anyone can appreciate. Interior Features The Corolla's interior provides more than just comfort and high-quality surfaces. It cradles you with an eight-way power driver seat with power lumbar support. You'll find models offering SofTex seats, a push-button sunroof, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, heated front seats, and configurable digital displays. The Honda Civic may be the Corolla's closest competitor in this regard, featuring modest styling, beautiful honeycomb metal mesh running through the dash, and clean lines. One advantage for the Corolla, though, is the option of adding a remote trunk release and a universal garage door opener. The Subaru Impreza doubtlessly carries its appealing design and comfortable cabin; however, lower-quality plastic and other cost-cutting details may turn off some customers. The Hyundai Elantra's interior also packs plenty of the same benefits. The SEL offers a Convenience package, which adds two 10.25-inch displays: one for the driver and the other for the infotainment system. However, there are a few strange discrepancies. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto change from wireless to wired connectivity only with the Convenience package, and the two cheapest trim levels lack the 60/40-split folding rear seats. Engine and Performance For 2023, the Corolla swapped out a 139-horsepower engine under the hood for a 2.0-liter Dynamic Force engine with 169 horsepower and 151 lb-ft of torque. An available Dynamic-Shift continuously variable transmission (CVT) combines the quick reaction of a conventional manual with a gearless automatic shifter. The 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine in the Honda Civic continues to produce 180 horsepower, like last year, while the 2.0-liter four-cylinder on the base model continues to output 158 horsepower. As per usual, the Civic only offers front-wheel drive. A six-speed manual will still be offered for the hatchback model, but all other models are stuck with an unremarkable CVT. As for the Impreza, all 2023 models use a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that generates 152 horsepower. Despite having less potent engines than the Corolla, the Impreza comes standard with all-wheel drive. While Subaru is known for its brand of active all-wheel drive, the Corolla gives you a choice between that or front-wheel drive. The Elantra, with a 2.0-liter I-4 with 147 horsepower and 132 lb-ft of torque, also doesn't measure up against the 2023 Toyota Corolla. Fuel Economy The Corolla offers a highly frugal hybrid option and a still-efficient four-cylinder engine. The front-wheel-drive hybrid achieves 50 city mpg and 43 highway mpg, while the all-wheel-drive hybrid is predicted to achieve 47 city mpg and 41 highway mpg. By contrast, the 2023 Honda Civic gets 35 mpg overall, from 33 mpg in the city and 42 mpg on the interstate. The Impreza can achieve up to 28 city mpg and 36 highway mpg. Customers and drivers of Hyundai vehicles may anticipate the Elantra to deliver up to an EPA-estimated 33 city mpg and 43 highway mpg rating with the basic SE trim. With an EPA-estimated 25 city mpg and 34 highway mpg, the N Line's basic manual transmission will boost the power but sacrifice gas mileage. Overall, the Corolla is superior in fuel economy, greatly increasing its long-term affordability. Safety Ratings The Toyota Corolla and Honda Civic are equipped with various security and driving aids prepared to help mitigate and prevent crashes in multiple ways. Both received the highest Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) rating, the Top Safety Pick+ designation, in 2022, and these awards are likely to be awarded again. The Impreza Hatchback and Hyundai Elantra were given the second-tier IIHS Top Safety Pick designation, while the Impreza Sedan won no safety awards from the IIHS.
